What caused the 2000 and 2000 D to have such funny looking mouths, some of them look even more distorted and funnier than others. This has been bugging me ever since I played the joke on Will and he guessed it was a 2000. I looked back at John's 2000 off center WAM and his is a strong strike with defined mouth, especially the bottom lip. Maybe Will will chime in
It is simply a one-year design trait. That is how I knew the coin was a 2000. All cents in that year have the fat lips. They changed the design again the next year.

Chuck Daugherty calls this one, "slug lips," which I though was really funny. As for me; the ownership, while appreciating my humor, expects a certain amount of decor from their moderators. If you would like a full-monty of big-lip jokes, please PM me, and I will be happy to put Jim to shame. I got banned once for a reason.

Ok, ok, by popular demand, here goes: What does it say on the inside of Lincoln's lips on a 2000 cent?
