What are the weights of the 1982 p & d cents,,,,1982-d large dates copper plated zinc...Thanks..I gave someone my redbook and have nothing to check the weights now

2.5g for the zinc, 3.1g for copper, as I recall.

There is a 1982-D large date Copper and a 1982-D large date Copper plated Zinc,,,what is the difference in weight,,i got a roll and not sure which ones they are because there is a big difference in price of the rolls..The ones i have weigh 3.1 on the scale

All solid Lincolns are suppose to be in the 3.0g - 3.1g range and the plated are 2.5g!!!

I've seen quit a few plated at 2.6G so if you use a .5g scale it reads 3.0G, better check with one that reads to .1G to know for sure.

That is a good point... I use a powder scale out to 3 decimal places!!!

The difference is of no consequence in that it is well within acceptable deviance in weight.

Are you saying a zinc cent could weigh 3.0g and still be within tolerance ?

No Roger. I mean that a .05 deviation on either coin from the norm is of no consequence.

No. Maybe I'm expressing myself unintelligibly. I'm suggesting that a zinc weighing 2.6g is within limits. Or a copper at 3.2g,

LOL Roger, I'm not responsible for the lakes being frozen over. I have not bee able to get out either for the gale-like winds.
