Looks like 005 to me. Some of these are tough to tell.

Hi:

Can you post a real close up pic where it looks like the base of the G is starting to flare ( Picture #2)? Is there metal going off to the right of the G or is that a shadow? Hard to tell from your present pic.

Also- did you check VarietyVista.com to try and match the die-scratches by the Date and MM with the 88D posted there?

Looks like 005 to me also. The top of the G just goes too far over for me. I dont really like the pic of 005 on Varietvista becuz it show a very polished FG. It should an FG that is very close to 006 so you can really tell the difference. Most of the 005s dont look that much like the pic on the other site.

I see what you mean about the G
I just looked very close at the top of the G on both a 88 and 89 and you are right- there is a big difference!

The 1988 has the G lining up exactly with the right side of the lower portion of the G that extends upward, in contrast to the 1989 , where the end of the G stops like half way in lining up with the lower portion of the G.
Great way to also tell them apart! Thanks.

I agree also- unfortunately its not the 1988D a RDV-006- it' s a RDV-005.
