Hey all, I not sure what this is but found it interesting. Any ideas, I didn't see anything like listed on CC or anywhere else I looked.

Thanks in advance,
Adam

Well after looking through a few more cents I found another 1989P with doubling effects on the reverse. Didn't want to start another thread.

Once again thank in advance,
Adam

Adam,

First off welcome to the Forum. I do beleive both coins are the result of the amount of pressure that was applied to the dies during the striking process. Both Obverse and Reverse appears that the dies pushed the coating away from the digits and letters. On the reverse you will notice where the zinc is exposed due to excessive pressure. Keep searching for I have found similar coins like this. I just roll them up.
