1949 Penny with strange date

I found a 1949 wheat penny as I was recording all my coins. The "1" is fat and short and definitely different. I'm wondering what the story is on this one and how much it might be worth. Couldnt find too much online about it. Anyone have a clue?

Is it possible to get a close up of the date??? It looks as if the date may have taken a hit??? The jacket SW of the date appears weak as if it was a worn die or a strike thru... I just can not tell for sure with the pic!!!

I'm with J. on this one. I think it's just wear and damage. The shine to the left of 1 likely resulted from wear, deterioration, damage, a harsh cleaning or some or all of the above. Your photo is a little out of focus so it's hard to be sure. If you're shooting with a cellphone, you can buy a magnifier to fit it for about ten bucks at Walmart that will make these pics much easier.

Thanks for your responses. I'm attaching a close up of just the date. The 1 in the date is much fatter than normal and is cut off at the bottom diagonally. There is also some sort of shadowing of Lincoln's jacket notic108157108157eable in the close up. Can u see it?

Your coin has post strike damage to the 19 and the jacket that pushed the design elements out of proportion. They seem to blend with the rest of the coin because of the wear from circulation .

It means it was damaged after it was minted.
