Hi! I am a newbie of a new and need some second opinions here. I found this 1944 d Wheat Back penny from a circulated bank roll and I believe it may be a "d/s" mint mark. Please feel free to agree/disagree and thank y'all in advance! 😊

Welcome to the forum!!! It is difficult to see the mint mark clearly in your photo. Can you post better pictures?

Let me see if I can get some better ones. It's hard to focus since I am not using a great camera. See...newest new alive.

Thank you! I've spent the last few months collecting, searching, googling...it's nice to find a place I can get support and advice! Thank goodness for small miracles because I can get more lost than a blonde at a museum!

First , welcome aboard ! This is a great place to learn and enjoy !
Your coin showes a mintmark that has taken a hit in just the right spot to mimic the famous D/S.
The position of the mintmark when compared to the date is fairly close to the D/S and the pics, while not bad , are still a bit blurry. The way I was able to tell it wasn't the D/S was by comparing the overall hight of your mintmark to a section of the 4 in the date and doing the same test on a image of the D/S at Coppercoins http://coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1944&die_id=1944d1om001&die_state=mds .
The D/S is a tall beast so this kind of test did show your mintmark to overall be shorter than the famous variety.

Definately keep searching. You will eventually find something when you least expect it. Also, you came to the right place. You will not find a more knowledgable or nicer group of people that are willing to help.
