    1959D With small T

I have what appears to be a 1959 D with the second "T" in "trust" appearing disproportionately smaller than the rest of the letters. Is that normal?

There would be many reasons why a device seems larger or smaller than others. The most common is die or circulation wear/damage. There are also filled dies, and die damage such as laminations or struck throughs. If you are thinking the die would have been made with one smaller letter than the others, that would be highly unlikely.

The main thing to realize is the die designs don't change normally during a single year, although there are exceptions. Chances are this was probably from a hit or grease. I would suggest looking for for errors or varieties that actually exist so you can get an idea what look like. You seem to be looking for things on coins that don't exist. Just slow down and study what to look for and you'll be fine!
