This is a somewhat interesting case of die changes resulting in different doubled die pairs, and eventually the loss of the DDO. CONECA has this set up as DDO-002 first with DDR-004. Then a rev die change to DDR-005. As DDO-002/DDR-005 progresses, the obv die is changed leaving just the DDR.

Nice pick or find... At first I thought you may have a RPM not listed but looking at Variety Vista it appears as if Stage C and D have MD on them... Yours appears to match the Stage C pics best... Now the question is - How did MD that looks exactly the same get that way??? Was the working hub rehubbed causing the MD??? The MD is not on the Stage B pics???

I belive your correct, stage B does not show any MD. I only found about four examples of this die, and all were stage C or D. I was extra excited for this coin because I somehow overlooked both the MD and Liberty crack, and was expecting a stage B. The technicality of the strike is were I lack some knowlegde. I did learn that MD is random and can differ between strikes. I do feel like something must have been off to cause the MD through two die states, but what I'm not sure!
