Got this 59 d today and wanted to know if most 59' look silvery on the obverse with a heavy copper tone on the reverse?109607109608109608109609

I agree with TJ. With the copper color showing through I would think environmental damage, maybe even a previous post mint silver colored plating that has worn through.

Agreed, damaged or formerly plated - could also have had mercury rubbed on the obverse years ago too...
