Just wasn't sure about this one. Looks very close to 1984P-1DO-006 & 1984P-1DO-010 with the extra thickness in the 8 & 4, but the die markers are not right. Seems closer to 006 with the die deterioration around the upper rim.
Maybe an early stage, or not at all?
Well I think I found a marker from 1984P-1DO-004 right below Lincoln on the RE, and this one displays the same die deterioration along the top of the OB.
Just not sure since all the other markers, both OB and RE are not there.
WOOT!
Thanks for the encouragement. That was a lot of fun.
Before I catalog it, is there an index somewhere to cross this with the Wexler numbers?
Since coppercoins doesn't seem to be actively maintained anymore, I thought it would be prudent to use Wexler's where possible. No big deal if not.
One other area to check, is the doubling on the bottom of the bust, which is not shown on CC. Here's a link to one I found that shows that doubling. I do see the "dot" below the S in TRUST in your pic.
Found this recently, just been to busy lately, to take the time to post anything. Attributed this by the "dot" below the S in TRUST. Wasn't sure, because of the bust doubling, which isn't seen on Coppercoins. But it is in the CONECA description for 005.

I think I see it on the bust if you mean where it's at it's thinnest where it meets the field. Not sure I would have seen that otherwise.
Now I also see the dot below the S as well. I honestly thought it was dirt before and discounted it. Looking at a different angle did the trick.
Nice find... Attribution to Copper Coins (CC) 004 is spot on... I noticed that there is a die scratch/abrasion just to the SW of the 9s upper loop on your coin that appears to match perfectly with CCs 004... Remember that not all die marker will be noted... Just ones that are the easiest to identify... Depending on die state some listed markers change or disappear all together!!!
Jim (A.K.A. Elmer Fudd) Be verwy verwy quiet... I'm hunting coins!!! Good Hunting!!!
