I tried to pick a 37-D DDR but got send the wrong coin. Might not turn out too bad if this isnt some kind of other doubling. What I'm seeing is seperation lines on the SE facing sides of the 9 3 & 7, with an obvious notch on the bottom of the 7, and another that dosent show well on the upper part of the 7. The date looks a little thick too. Possible doubling on the eye. The bow tie has die scratches through it, but looks like it has been rotated a bit. The MM has a little anomaly that looks thicker than the die scratches, and running a different direction than them also. I think it would be tough to verify it as an RPM though. Apologies for the horible focus and lighting!

I think you got something there, I'll be curious how this turns out.

My vote is for a definite DDO. Nice find and well worth sending in to an expert. Way to go!!

I'm not at all sure about this one but will be happy to find that I'm wrong. The bottom of the 7 in the date looks to be die deterioration or scratches. I see the apparent doubling to the east on the date in general but can't see enough of it to make up my mind between MD and DD. The bowtie does look the best of the lot but if it is DDO it appears to be in a direction other than the one on the date. The profile is clearly MD in my mind and the same type of scratches appear under the eye by the cheek as the ones at the base of the 7 in the date. Overall, I don't think this is a DDO.

To me it all appears to be a reengraved dies... Abe appears to have the trench around him and the notch on the SW of the 7 x bar is very similar to what we see on the 4s of the 1944 reengraved dies... You also have die abrasion!!!

P.S. I can see the pics a lot better... I'm on a different computer without graphics card problems... If I'm wrong then it's just my lack of knowledge :LOL_Hair: Or my coke bottles :LOL_Hair:

Thanks for the input guys! I did forget to mention the heavy MD that probably shows on the NE side of the date, and Jim caught the heavy trench around the profile. We shall see! Just got back my first package back from Wexler with some good news, and I'll put this one in the second package that will be sent off soon!
