I've always admired this variety. I missed the rim ding but I'm still OK with it at $17.50. You just
don't see many of these and I really just wanted to experience this one in hand. This one has a
proper Waffle House aura to it as it has been scattered, smothered, and covered but obviously
not dipped......YET! The wear and debris made this one a yatch to photograph so forgive the weird angles
and color changes. The doubled ear is really strong on this variety but in furtherance of his legend
Abe has once again experienced some serious head trauma so the ear doesn't show up too well here.
Man, I would love to find one of these in UNC condition!

Nice coin.
There are some cool 41 DDOs other than the big ones.
Your die-5 and the die-6 are nice.
I think is toughest to find is die-4, not a huge one by any means but it's hardly ever seen and if anyone can cherry one in unc they deserve a cherrypicking award. :bigsmile:

Sorry for being late to the party, T. That is an terrific find. 1941 is one of my favorite DDO years. I almost have a complete set, I think. Congrats on a terrific find.
