This is an interesting one. I purchased this coin sight unseen based off of the ANACS label for the price of a non-variety. I think it's a true DDR and solid enough for Wexler and coppercoins, though CONECA might call it too minor. It is strange though that there are no listed 1925 DDRs by any of the attributors, seeing as how this one was holdered around 20 years ago by ANACS. They only have certified a single 1925 DDR.

Nice coin, you might try for a listing.

Love those older ANACs holders, wish they never changed holders.

Never have looked at their pop report and didn't realize they did it that well.

Just out of curiosity I wonder if my 24 DDR die-1 shows up in it.
It's labeled as 1924 DDR DMR-003 DDR-001 LDS MS65 RB. Does it show in their report?

Yeah I wish they still used the white holders as well. They yellow just isn't very attractive. Your 1924 DDR doesn't show up in their report though. They had some trouble updating newer listings since 2012 as well as from 2007-2008. Coins graded in those years can be looked up based off of their cert number with accurate information, but show up in the report as a generic "1924". What generation of holder is yours?

That sounds right, mine was graded in 2008.
When I had it graded I sent it to James Wiles and he attributed it then sent it on to ANACs so they used his attribution and I think James used pics of it in his book.
I bought it raw and had it slabbed and it was a 63RB, I noticed it was a DDR when it came back from grading. I cracked it before I sent it to James. On the second time at ANACs they gave it 65RB which I think is fair, it's a looker.

Looking at the 24 makes me more convinced yours is a similar DDR. It often seems they make similar doubled dies for a date range. Notice that the 24 also shows up on AMERICA and it's a bit similar to your 25.

Similar style of doubling and a beautiful coin! Always nice to have a good story with a coin too.
