A lower grade but I'll take it till another pops up . This one gives me all the known 24-S varieties. Not a huge accomplishment but fun . An ebay pick .

Hello congrats. As a newbe I have to ask how did you pick this out. I would have tossed it from lack of experience. It isn't listed in CP. or anything and I have trouble with identifying medium oversized letters type errors. Is there a trick to spotting these or does it just come with time. Also where is a widely accepted master list of errors at maybe Variety Vista. I don't see this at Cherry pickers, and that is what I relied on as gospel. Trying to learn so any help would be awesome.

This is admittedly a difficult coin to learn about class VI doubling from. The die state combined with circulation has enlarged the design elements all around . When I spotted this coin I was specifically looking for this die. This is the listing , http://varietyvista.com/01a%20LC%20Doubled%20Dies%20Vol%201/1924SDDO001.htm
What I saw first was the distortion of the 9 in the date , then confirmed with markers from VV.

That makes sense. Thanks for your help, and I will look more closely at that sight.

Nice pick... Yours may even be an earlier die state than VVs sample http://varietyvista.com/01a%20LC%20Doubled%20Dies%20Vol%201/1924SDDO001.htm I do not see the die damage at the rim, east of the 4, on yours like VVs sample???
