Are you referring to the Edgar Muunch's "Scream" look to Lincoln's face?

You did a triplicate of this post I believe. An administrator will consolidate them somehow, I think.

Although it may be Cool to look at to you basically it was hit with an object that pushed and moved the metal on the coin.
so it is damaged after the last second of the coin being struck
We call this Post Strike Damage
think of a new car that someone scratches with a key.
Damage.

Looks like a combination of road rash and animal tooth marks!

Welcome to the forum ShannonO! I really like the way you photographed this coin! You have turned it into a work of art! Even though it is damage (LOL enamel... animal tooth marks) we are not picking on you or your coin. Sometimes coins with damage get a lot of funny comments because they can look so bizarre! Have fun searching Lincolns and keep us posted on what you find!

Check out that ding between 2 and 3:00, near the rim. Made me think of an "S" MM WAAAY off place!

As Jim would say...my pair of doilies are working overtime :LOL_Hair:

Welcome to the forum, Shannon! :tinysmile_classes_t

You never know...it could actually be worth something on eBay just because of the cool factor, but as far as numismatics is concerned, it's damage :)

I like the pic you did... Lots of PSD... Across Bay 1 (B1) and Bay 2 (B2) there appears to be a lamination but I can not tell for sure as the obv is covering up that area... Can you get a pic of the B1 and B2 area???
