This 1920S looks like it could be a RPM, but it doesn't match the only one I could find that is listed on Wexler (http://doubleddie.com/959799.html) and VV (http://varietyvista.com/02a%20LC%20RPMs%20Vol%201/1920SRPM001.htm). Opinions? Thanks for looking.

Maybe. You'd have to send it to someone for in hand look unless one of the attributers recognizes it was being a known anomaly.

Can't say I have ever seen one like that. The only one I have ever seen for 1920S is an S/S close North. I am not convinced that it is not an old hit in the field, but it would have to be looked at in hand to be sure.

Thanks Bob!! Would you look at it or could you suggest someone? Thanks, Larry

My guess inconclusive. No serif just a slight curve - this can very easily could be a die gouge or a hit in the field - esp with the amount of wear that one has. I have a 20-S that I can almost pick out the upper serif and it's a North - won't send it in because the coin isn't worth the attribution fee.

Not trying to hijack your post - here is mine..

If someone could overlay the image. The S to the north looks like differs in size and curvature.

That is interesting... I agree with having to send it in for a look... I think Wexler is fairly busy currently so Dr. Wiles may be your best bet???

Thanks to Bob's generous help and expertise it has been determined that this 1920S is not a new RPM, but it is an interesting PMD Lincoln that would cause most Lincoln hunters to take a second look!! I sincerely appreciate the time and interest that Bob took in attributing this coin!! Thanks Bob!!

Would not have guessed PMD on that. Just shows to go ya...with Lincolns, as with everything...the more eyes the better! :xd:
