Just thought I would share this. I found this a while ago, but I couldn't get a good picture of it until now. 196 doubled http://www.lincolncentforum.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=119202&stc=1http://www.lincolncentforum.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=119203&stc=1

There's no doubt about it being a doubled die. Have you attempted to attribute it yet?

I found that the very right tip is also doubled on the Y. I can't tell if the L in LIBERTY is doubled. I will have to take pictures. I have not yet attributed it yet, but I will when I get home.

I got a new microscope. It does not take before photos of the coin, but nice close ups.

I am not sure if the motto is and the rest of LIBERTY is doubled. http://www.lincolncentforum.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=119214&stc=1http://www.lincolncentforum.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=119215&stc=1http://www.lincolncentforum.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=119216&stc=1http://www.lincolncentforum.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=119217&stc=1http://www.lincolncentforum.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=119218&stc=1http://www.lincolncentforum.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=119217&stc=1

Nice find... Looks like notching on the the SW corners of the TY... The east arm of the Y also looks thicker than the west... BER also looks a little thick... Not sure on IGWT but it could be... I think the circ wear and PSD may be hiding a few things!!!

Nice photos Sheila, your new scope is doing well! There are a bunch of DDO's for 1962, a lot of them are proofs and doubled eye's so you can narrow it down that way. I just looked down the list and Die 5, 19 look similar (you can read the description and narrow it down that way too) Once you find a few that seem similar you can start looking for die markers. Here is the link to coppercoins http://www.coppercoins.com/diesearch.php It's not an easy year to attribute but would be rewarding if you want to give it a shot!

Yes, I am not sure which Die it is. Number 5 seems the closest but I'm not sure if it matches exactly.

You can also look at Wexler's site http://www.doubleddie.com/307701.html

Coppercoins Die 5 is the same as Wexler 1962 1¢ WDDO-001. Wexler's site has a description of the different Stage Markers, but no photos.

and on Variety Vista here http://www.varietyvista.com/01b%20LC%20Doubled%20Dies%20Vol%202/1962PDDO001.htm
the 1962 DDO-001

I can't see any die markers. The fields look pretty smooth.

Looks like I am seeing the die gouge to the left of the first T of TRUST, which is mentioned and photographed in coppercoins example of Die 5. Which is your fourth photo down on page 1. Also, see if you see the die chips on the last column of the Memorial.

Here is the coppercoins link http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1962&die_id=1962p1do005&die_state=mds

I just noticed that the bottom of the two on the left-hand side of the curve has a notch in it as well. Did you notice that?

No, it was Will this time. I was trying to help Sheila and thought I figured it out and was PM'ing with Will and he told me to go for it so I did. See where Will clicked on "thank for this post"? that was Will's confirmation :)

Thank you! It was just as exciting for me when Sheila said "yes I see it now" as it would have been if I had found that nice DDO myself! Really happy for her!
