WHICH DIE # DO YOU THINK THIS IS? MAYBE # 3 OR # 8?

I'm leaning towards #3 but would need to see markers to be sure. #'s 3 and 8 are close. Have you looked at Coppercoins.com to verify?

What makes you lean toward #8? Are you looking at markers or the strength of the doubling?

You may also want to look at CONECA's variety index at dies #3 & #8 as they have a full set of die markers for multiple stages that are not all currently shown on Coppercoins.com.

For example my DDO-003 'stage b' is earlier than the markers shown on CC and caused me a great deal of confusion when trying to attribute it on my own.

Seperation does not appear to be as great as #8 .

with only the photos to go on, I'll say #6.

If you are able to get better photos it would be easy to distinguish between the CW 1972 DDOs Or can send it in...

Uh oh, duck, this all seems very familiar to me. I just had a #3 and #6 struggle myself, and finally decided to go with the #3 because of a marker on the reverse just above the left urn in bay 3. Your coin is very nice and that marker should show up quite good if it is there.

DDO # 3 is another minor CW DDO and a possiblity.

using the ARLC book... # 3 has tons'O die markers and seven die stages so point out those markers. It is easy help id when one can either see the coin in person / see a little better pics and know all the die markers on a given coin.
