    1959 D penny memorial

    I have this 1959 D memorial that I found in my pocket change that looks like it is almost new ! I looked it up on the world wide web and found out it may be worth more than a penny ! I also have found 6
    1969 pennies that are in good condition!! Some are D some are S and some are just 1969 . Help with what to look for !! I can post pictures !

      Looking through a lot of cents you find some in nice condition even mint red older ones that by luck sat in a drawer or jar or in a collection that was later spent.

      To add fun to my searching I keep some of the blue cent folders and keep upgrading. After a while you can put together a nice set.
      That breaks up the monotony while I'm hoping to find some rare variety.

      In reality, none of the memorials you'll find in circulation are likely to have a lot of value even if they're full red unless they are a rare variety or extremely high grade. They have book value and so do 40s-50s wheat cents but the deal is, if you bring them to a coin shop the memorials are a cent and the average circ wheat cents are 2-3 cents. Of course if you're buying them they cost more.

          Like anything else, as time goes on and you build your knowledge of a particular hobby, you will have to branch out more and more.                       Welcome to the LCF! That's cool you found those nice Lincoln's in pocket change. I would imagine too, if you are still a trucker, that you run across several "need a penny take a penny" things at gas stations. Sometimes you can spot nice wheat cents there. We have all done that a few times, just trade it for another not so nice Lincoln cent in your pocket Have fun and post some pics if you'd like to!
