1963p - DDO

[TPring]

My coin appears to have an extra eyelash [which I hope shows up in the pics] -- There appears to be at least a few versions of 'extra eyelash' LCs.

Looked through CC, VV and Wexler sites to look for markers and cannot pin down anything specific with the scratches and gouges.

I included several pics of the area.

edit: to me it looks similar to CC-005 or VV-008

It does look to have a double eyelid. CC 005 might be right.
But VV 008 is a proof coin. Looks like VV 022 is the only one with a double eyelid.

Haven't really been successful trying to nail it down with markers given by CC and VV. Are there other sources that may provide more?


I am guessing that coins made earlier in the production cycle would/may not carry the LDS markers? Sorry for silly questions, still getting the hang of this process.

Did you check out Wexlers site??? http://doubleddie.com/814997.html He normally has listings that the others do not... He is in the process of updating his files and the 63s are not completed yet!!!

It depends on the marker. Some get polished away later, some grow, new ones show up.
In general, cracks and chips grow over time and polishing lines come and go with polishing and use.
