Very nice MM to the east. Have not checked #s yet. Desk is buried in work,

Congrats. That one should stand out pretty easy because of the MM location being fairly close to the 95.
(Got a chuckle about the desk because I have one of those varieties.):LOL_Hair:

Nice find... Looks like yours has some MD on the upper serif and upper insede curve but the lower serif looks good... CCs 005 looks to be best match to me http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1953&die_id=1953s1mm005&die_state=mds but you will need to check it out for markers and MM position... I think yours has MD over the top of the RPM on the north half of the coin???

You'd think being close to the 5 would make attribution super easy.
But it's not true, they put them close to the 5 on a bunch of 53-s cents. :)

That was just to drive the RPM collectors nuts :LOL_Hair:

Looks to be the correct obv die #, My rev die scrarches didn't match up so I went to VV and it looks to be a stage A with the die scratches and wheat ear crack.

I think the green in your pics is washing out the markers... I can not tell if the crack is there on your wheat grains... Since the MM position matches up and you see the crack for Stage A on VV http://varietyvista.com/02a%20LC%20RPMs%20Vol%201/1953SRPM005.htm then I would say yours is Stage A/EDS... Cool... Thanks for the follow up!!!

The problem with desks is it gives you a place to set down things to do later, then you cannot even work with all the later things to do. But that is why we have tomorrow, to do what we didn't get done today.

When it's on the desk you know where it is... If you straighten up the desk then everything gets lost :LOL_Hair:
