Just finishing up the brick I found a 70S SD (http://www.lincolncentresource.com/smalldates/1970Ssmalldate.html) in yesterday and I find its twin today. Been searching Lincolns for almost 4 years now without finding a 70S SD and now I find 2 in 2 days!! Thanks for looking.

That looks like a large date to me.

It's not a large date. He is correct at identifying it as a small date.

Nice going!
I've cherried them from dealers stock and in mint sets at shows but never found one in the wild.

Many of the small dates and RPM-1s came from mint sets, never seen one come from an OBW 70-s roll (but they might).
It makes me wonder how they got into that brick, maybe from some cut up mint sets? Did you find a pair of nice red 70-P and 70-D in the brick?

That's amazing to find one.. and even more amazing to find two.. and just about unheard of in the same brick! Looks to be in great shape too! Congrats Larry J!

Ed, I did find a 71S proof and a 77S proof in that brick also,

Makes me wonder if that brick came from a collector or a coin shop.
Shops accumulate lots of coins and might cash them in and overlook something like the 70-S small dates.
The 70 mint sets often got cut up, the 70-D 40% half was only in mint sets so anyone filling a set had to buy a single from a cut up set, dealers might cut them to get the halves and flip the other stuff as unc singles and toss the cents in their cent pile to be turned in to a bank. Same with some low demand proofs, they toss them in the pile.

Other than something like that, it's beating the odds to find 2 unc small dates in a brick or in a lifetime of searching :)

LOL, but then you find an amazing bunch of IHCs too! :)
