I am quite new to coin collecting and especially variety hunting and was wondering if someone could tell me if I have found my first ever variety? It looks to me like an RPM but with my limited knowledge I am probably wrong! Thanks in advance and happy hunting and new years!

Copper coins- 029 looks close but yours is well circulated and I don't see any splits on the serifs.
Here is the link (http://coppercoins.com/diesearch.php?date=1946&thismint=d&thistype=mmom&page=2) . Hope this helps. Others with a lot more experience will be along later.

No matter the experience level, the more circulated the cent, the harder to see the diagnostics to confirm its a variety. But that is no reason to give up. Good luck on your searches.

Welcome to the forum.

What a coincidence -- Just got a '46d in change yesterday and happened to be looking at the RPMs for that year. Originally thought I might have had a DD but, it was not to be.:squigglemouth: Turned out to be PSD on the date.

The old worn ones are tough to verify, good luck.
