It appears that there is doubling in the first three #s of the date, as well as the mint mark. Is this the elusive 1955D Double Die?http://www.lincolncentforum.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=126598&stc=1http://www.lincolncentforum.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=126599&stc=1http://www.lincolncentforum.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=126600&stc=1

The elusive doubled die for 1955 is the 1955P, it's a monster... here is a link to https://coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1955&die_id=1955p1do001&die_state=eds

The 1955D does have one doubled die obverse listed where the date is affected on coppercoins.com, doubleddie.com and variety vista... here is a link to it

How does the eye look on your coin?

Hmmm, I'm not seeing it but since that date is in rough shape it may be 'hidden in plain site.'

The main 55dDDO-0 (http://coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1955&die_id=1955d1do004&die_state=mds)1 (http://coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1955&die_id=1955d1do001&die_state=mds) should show at the '19' -- Beat up coins are a tough call.

Good Luck.
