Doesn't seem to be any markers for this RPM at least I can't find any. Maybe someone has an idea of the one it might be? Please have a look, all comments are welcome.............dinkyblue

It could be RPM 003, 004 or 008. With no markers, there needs to be overlays done.

I did notice on copper coin that pictures are not yet available for 001,002,005,006,007, and 008 perhaps it could be one of them, but how would one find out? Guess I need to talk to Jim, he seems to be the overlay man here. Thank you your help.................Dan

CC's cross references the 003 with VV's 003 too. Sure does look like it. Here's more pics to check out if you want on VV. http://www.varietyvista.com/02b%20LC%20RPMs%20Vol%202/1989DRPM003.htm

The coppercoins numbers for 1MM-001 through 1MM-009 are based on the same numbers in the Lincoln Cent RPM book second edition. There are no pictures on coppercoins because I never saw one in hand. Variety Vistas attributions would be the same for these numbers.

With permission from Copper Coins (Thanks Bob) I did an overlay...Other than die wear it is a match to CCs 003 http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1989&die_id=1989d1mm003&die_state=mds Yours looks to be a LDS for CC or a Stage C or later for VV http://varietyvista.com/02b%20LC%20RPMs%20Vol%202/1989DRPM003.htm Your MM has a lot of abrasions and flow lines on the edges of the MM itself... Nice find!!!

Wow that was incredibly fast, CC 003 was the first one I looked at and didn't see it. I looked for the small die gouge or dot on the left vertical bar on the N in UNITED but could not see one. I missed this one too easily, I think you found the key to these RPM's and that is the " overlay's," I need to learn how to do them. Thank you for the overlay work Jim. Also I need to thank: mustbebob for straightening me out on the numbers. and makecents your attribution was correct................Dan

Sorry Dan, not trying to take anything away from your find. I am just happy when anyone, especially new people help us figure things out. These RPM's can be really tough sometimes!

Glad I could help... One thing to remember is that markers will change with die state... Some will even be worn away including abrasions and die dots!!!

You have been a tremendous help Jim as far as I am concerned, your knowledge is overwhelming I wish I could retain all that I read but unfortunate for me I forget things the older I get. Guess if I keep hammering away at it something good will happen, thanks for all your help....................Dan

Glad I could help... I have the same problem... Both age and pain meds really mess up the old memory :LOL_Hair:

It really helps if you love the hobby. You will be surprised at how much you retain if you really like it. I guess that's the same with everything. I can honestly say that I love the hobby as much today as I did 50 years ago when I was 12 and found my first variety. I kept thinking that some day, I would get tired of it, but that has never happened. The occasional hiatus keeps you from getting burned out though, so don't overdo it either.
