I wanted to share this recent pick up with you all. To be honest, I had never looked at this DDO before I ran into the listing on eBay. I didn't pick it. It was correctly labeled as 1DO-009 and WDDO-002. Coppercoins doesn't have a cross reference to VV, but it crosses to VV's DDO-004. The images weren't great but they were good enough to see doubling, and the die scratch above the R in LIBERTY matched so I bid the $2.00 opening bid. No one else bid so luckily I won. When it arrived I was pleasantly surprised at how nice of a doubled die it is under a loupe. I don't know how rare this die is. I did a couple quick forum searches and didn't see any threads about this die, nor any in the 1968 "die varieties by year" topic. Be on the lookout. If this die was created by a fresh hub, that wasn't so mushy, it would be super nice! It's still pretty sweet as is. Thanks for looking!
