Hi, guys and gals! Haven't had time to post much lately but I finally got a few hours of free time to play with my toys.
My wife bought me a Canon T6 for Christmas and I've just now put together equipment to share a few shots with everyone.
I don't really know what I'm doing yet but I must say I'm amazed how much difference a few megapixels can make! I have
a decent education on lighting but the 18 megapixel camera is doing the heavy lifting in these shots, not me. I'll start
with a 1946-S MS-65 RD PCGS slab shot that I fully expected to give me a migraine. It was easy!
Thanks for looking!

Tracy

Here's a 1957-D toner with bird poop accents.

Very nice photos Tracy! Really nice wheat coins too... great toner! I think your old set up just became obsolete :)

Thanks. I wonder if bird poop would be considered artificial toning?

Excellent job on those images... You did especially well thru the slab... I think you have the lighting down pat... Nothing wrong with the bird poop it is all natural :LOL_Hair:

Thanks, J! Two Jansjos with smile directors . Lights at 10 and 2 o'clock just short of vertical. Smile directors are essential IMO for slab shots. Any extra light surrounding the coin is a real problem. No doubt one of Ray's greatest contributions to dummies like me!

Tracy I think with those few shots you can make them all look good! Now if you want to deflate your confidence, try photgrahing a few proofs and then come back and tell us how you feel...LOL
