Here's a 1970 it looks like a proof.. but not sure..It's probably MDD though..
Probably MDD, but I would send a pic of it to Wiles or Coppercoins to be sure. I've seen doubled dies that look a lot like that. I'll be curious to hear what others think.

I don't see any split serifs. The doubling goes right up to the serif and stops or rounds it. This is classic MDD.
