I can’t find any information on this particular nickel. None that I have found on the websites with doubled die obverse. Does anyone have anything like this one and some kind of information or another website that has more listings of doubled obverse nickels? I'm not 100% because of the wear on yours but it looks like this guy. link (http://www.varietyvista.com/04a%20JN...940DDDO001.htm)Comment

It kind of does, but mine has the notched D in GOD. The one pictured does not. I am not sure if this one is listed anywhere. I have searched anything that I could find.Comment

There are limited pics on the listing and don't even show GOD but if you look at the date pic, it looks spot on.Comment

Yes. It does. Check out the lines on the letters of LIBERTY on the website pictures. The lines show on the left outer side of the letters. Mine shows the lines on the right inner part of the letters. That is one thing that makes it different. Do you see what I mean?Comment

Look at the "B" in LIBERTY. On the west side it shows notching at the top and bottom of the letter in both yours and the listing. I'm pretty sure this is your coin in the listing. There could be MD coupled with the doubled die on yours. Let's see what others say.Comment

Yes. I definitely see what you are looking at. I wonder why they don’t have more listings for nickels like they do on most coins. You may be right about this one. It’s definitely got me though, because they just don’t have much to compare with it.Comment

Nice find... I think Jon is correct on it being 001 but not 100%... I think the circ/die wear may be throwing me off... There is a little knub off the west side of the R in LIBERTY but that also shows up on S mint DDOs (check out Brians Varieties) https://www2.briansvarietycoins.com/listings/cat/13 If it is 001 VV needs to see samples to update their files http://www.varietyvista.com/04a%20JN...940DDDO001.htm Don't forget Ken Potters site http://koinpro.tripod.com/Jim

I just got a response today. They said that they are pretty sure that it is MD. Which is good to know being that there is hardly any information on nickels. Thank you guys for all your help!! I very much appreciate it!Comment
