Once again it pays off to re-search the already-searched pile with a specific goal in mind -- An OMM. VV (http://www.varietyvista.com/02a%20LC%20RPMs%20Vol%201/1944DOMM002.htm) CC (http://coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1944&die_id=1944d1om002&die_state=mds) LCR (http://www.lincolncentresource.com/OMMS/1944omm1and2.html)

Happy to have found the #2 [late stage].

Looks to have a substantial bit on the NE corner that doesn't really show on other examples I see.

Thanks,

Congrats TPring! Great looking D/S OMM! Maybe this is like the RPM's that are more visible in later die states, but I could not find any stages shown anywhere for this one! Did I miss the stages somewhere?

Added: Just found the stages on VV, yours looks Stage C... Nice!!!

Thanks.

The 'V-shaped' cracks are listed as mid-stage on CC but late stage [C] on VV. LCR has a pic that looks kinda similar but most others don't look the same -- Not sure how the 'S' is laid out.

edit: You're up kinda late. :tinysmile_classes_t

Nice pick!

It would be nice to see if someone has an overlay showing the layout for this one.

It took me awhile to figure out how the S is laid out... but on VV Stage C close up photo you can see the lower curve of the S directly below the bottom of the D. Yes... I don't pay much attention to time until it's time to go to work :)

Fantas T ic... Excellent find on the re search... A couple of questions - CC http://coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1944&die_id=1944d1om002&die_state=mds shows a crack in the hair... On VVs http://www.varietyvista.com/02a%20LC%20RPMs%20Vol%201/1944DOMM002.htm Stage B shows a small chip on the T of CENT and it is gone on Stage C indicating a rev die change - Does your coin have the crack and or chip??? Vivien did a good job pointing out the lay out of the S I can see it clearly now so the rain must be gone :LOL_Hair:
