The condition of the coins is great as they appear to be uncirculated. Believe it or not, there are plenty of them out there. There seems to be a fair amount of minor dings and scratches on them. That affects the grade quite a bit. In my opinion, having them graded is not a good idea as you would never recoup your grading fees.

I agree with the others. For example, a 1958D MS 65 cent in the Redbook is only valued at $1.00. Condition and rarity both are involved in determining value. Welcome to the forum!

Finding any red unc wheat cents in circulation is amazing and a lucky find!
Still, you can buy all the 58-d rolls you want from around $6-$12.5 so they are worth 12-25 cents in typical unc roll grades like 63 and up, typical unc roll coins. The $1 for a 65 in books is a retail price like what a dealer with the overhead of a shop might ask for a 65 in a flip and typical rolls will be a lot of 63-64 and maybe some 65 or better if lucky.

It's not worth $30 to have a coin worth under $1 graded because it will not sell for the grading fee.

Still makes me happy to see them, the what reverse looks so nice in unc red

Welcome to the LCF! Your 1958D's are very nice looking and I can see why you would want to know about having them graded! If I were you I would keep them, or if you have a bunch, keep the best looking ones. Then later if you are putting together a folder you will have some nice ones to pick from. Also, if you were to find an RPM or doubled die in the bunch that would increase the value, but not enough to get it slabbed unless you were lucky enough to find a nice grade Coppercoins 1958D-1MM-021. Here's a link to Coppercoins Advanced Search for 1958D https://coppercoins.com/diesearch.ph...smint=d&page=0

Welcome. Great advice from those that posted. To illustrate what is being said here is a 1958 D MS 66 graded by PCGS for only $15. Much cheaper than you could ever get yours graded.
