    1984P DDO

For some reason CopperCoins is only showing me about 5 DDOs and I am not seeing this described in Variety Vista. A 1984P with doubling around the back of the neck and hairline, but nothing I can pick out on any lettering or other areas of the device. Sent a similar one to Will a couple of days ago , but it also had doubling on the crown of the head. Nice smooth transitions, so would not call it MD. This is a regular strike, what you are seeing is MD or machine doubling, sort of flat and shelf like in appearance, that's why you can't find any information on it. Are you a new member? if so welcome to the Lincoln cent forum. Please look in the glossary under machine doubling or (machine damage doubling or strike doubling) for more information. ..................Dan

That closeup of the back of the head is nice and clear.
Not your typical MD (not flat or shelf like), seeing as how it has some curvature to it. But there is no notching or separation from the primary design.

That looks like MD to me also... It appears to cut into the design... Since you have a similar one off to Will you may want to hold on to this one... A pic may be worth a thousand words but a coin in hand is worth a thousand pics!!!
