Happy Friday Fellow Copper Companions

Just received a very exciting eBay pick of 1934-D/D RPM#4 showing a very nice re-punched D to the north. The strength of the secondary mintmark is astounding, and this might actually be early die state (EDS). In checking the markers I see the series of N/S die scratches inside the B of LIBERTY, and the beginning of a die crack along the right wheat stalk. Whatever the die state this is a great RPM with a lot going on. The coin itself is beautiful, with glossy fields and a superb strike and I'm estimating a MS63-64BN once submitted. Happy hunting!

Thanks,
Brandon

Fantastic RPM and great looking coin, congrats!! Judging from the flow lines, I would think MDS or even later though.

Good observation, and thanks for the insight.I went back and looked at the full obverse shot and it looks like you can just barely see the beginning of the rim crack.

Are you referring to the Stage C rim breaks per variety vista? http://varietyvista.com/02a%20LC%20RPMs%20Vol%201/1934DRPM004.htm

Super color and great variety.

Is it my eyes or is there a die crack down the middle of the left wheat stem?

I don't see one, but took some close up of the left wheat, right wheat and rim just to be sure. Thanks!

Edit to add that I agree, I think this is Stage B (MDS). Thanks for your help!

Great pick from a less than stellar photo listing.

Thanks for the followup images but I was referring to the bottom left stem not, the wheat seed area. Your full reverse image seems to show a die crack with chips down the entire length.

Excellent pick... That must be a Stage B since yours has none of the rim breaks showing... Very cool!!!
