It's funny because just the other day you were kinda fussing about the quality of the Lincolns you were seeing in bank rolls - it was time for this beauty to show up for you! How Awesome!!!

Exactly! That’s what was pretty comical about it! I have a tendency to like copper ones a lot too. Yikes!!! I know I’m supposed to like the shields, but They are my least favorite. I don’t look at those very often. Just a few sometimes. Lesson learned!!

Excellent find Sheila... The listed EDS/Stage A listings all show die scratches under the memorial... CCs MDS (http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1984&die_id=1984p1do001&die_state=mds) shows none an apparent die change??? Does yours have any of the die scratches???

Anyone agree that this may be different? Different listing? 142302 142303 142304 142305 142306 142307 142308

What different things are you referring to? I see a die chip at the bottom of the jacket... not sure what to look for on the other pics. Yours may be a different die stage than the ones listed but not a different die.

That’s more what I’m talking about. Different die stage. I don’t see that one listed.

Okay thank you! Well... the die gouges you have at WE look just like Wexler's photo. (still looking at the other pics you posted) http://doubleddie.com/828844.html

The die chip at the bottom of the jacket is not mentioned in any of the attribution notes CC, VV or Wexler so it could be that yours is an unlisted later Stage B since Coppercoins has a MDS listed but doesn't mention that die chip and I can't tell on the full coin shot if it's there or not.

I'm not sure what you are referring to at the neck. Besides the doubling on the beard and the bow tie, there is bumpy plating on all of these examples but to me your photo of Lincoln's neck looks like Wexler's (http://doubleddie.com/828844.html) and Coppercoins' (https://coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1984&die_id=1984p1do001&die_state=mds) photos. Let's see what the guys think!

OK, I was looking for the die scratch in front of the neck. I see it on Wexler’s now. I didn’t see it before.

Okay cool! Thanks Sheila! I still think Dr. Wiles would like to see yours for a Stage B listing since (from Post #5) The die chip at the bottom of the jacket is not mentioned in any of the attribution notes CC, VV or Wexler so it could be that yours is an unlisted later Stage B since Coppercoins has a MDS listed but doesn't mention that die chip and I can't tell on the full coin shot if it's there or not.

Hey there Jim! If it's okay with Sheila can we see about merging this thread with her original 1984 doubled ear thread so the history of posts will continue in order. Thank you!

Thanks for the follow up pics... I am not sure on your die stage??? At first I was thinking MDS but I am not to sure??? It doesn't look to me like the obv die had much wear on it??? Everything looks sharp still like an EDS??? Your rev has what looks like clash marks in B1 and south of the west urn at the base??? So I am at a loss for the die stage... Sorry about that!!!

No I don't wanna :LOL_Hair: All merged up... The die stage on Sheilas' is throwing me also... The rev die looks different from the other listings so I am not sure if it is an earlier or later stage???

Wiles would be your best bet as Wexler is really far behind now... He has been slammed with submissions for attribution... Folks have been sending him 5 coins at a time!!!
