    PCGS Registry Sets

I just got around to setting up three PCGS Registry Sets for my cent collection, which I recently “completed”. My collection closely follows the composition of the following two predefined PCGS sets if you combine them and then start with the year 1900:

Indian Cents Basic Set, Circulation Strikes and Proof (1859-1909)
Lincoln Cents with Major Varieties, Circulation Strikes and Proof (1909-Present)

The focal set is the “Lincoln Cents Basic Set, Matte Proof (1909-1916)” which is 100% complete. I have a certain fascination with the MPLs. The other two sets above are fairly well ranked but are very low in completion percent because the mass of common dates are raw. I just created them to hold any PCGS coins that would not fit in the MPL set. They will probably not grow any more complete if at all.

The names of the registry sets are:
    Veronica Indian Cents
    Veronica Lincoln Cents
    Veronica Matte Proofs

Please feel free to review and comment. I always appreciate any inputs from this forum. Here is the general link:

      WS,

      Thanks.

Your spot is in a bad place. That alone kept it from being a 64. I assume the color in your pic is more accurate than the TrueView version. I brought the TrueView issue up here and over at the PCGS blog but did not get any traction. In my view, the coloration they get on those pics are usually nothing like what I see in hand under any lighting conditions and I don't think the plastic has that much effect. Just my opinion.

I was considering adding (or substituting) my pics to the coins in the set. I am happy with my pics for those coins in the set that have no TrueView available. I did turn the auto option off, downloaded the TrueView images from PCGS and added them manually. All except for the 1911 where the PCGS pic was just horrible.

Correct, the spot is the killer. And also correct about the trueview pics which tend to be juiced very red in my opinion.

Great set. I don't find the 09VDB ugly. I think your 1912 is way under-graded. Trueview leaves a lot to be desired. My last batch were all way too blue.
