I was organizing collection of wheats put away and putting them together by years and taking bad coins out vedigres and all. I was able to go through the 1917 P and 1939 P so far. This nice 1939 DDR popped out. I cant figure out if its WDDR-016 or WDDR-025. Thanks.
1939 DDR WDDR-016 or 025?

At this point I am leaning toward Wexlers 025 which crosses to VVs 007/CCs 005... The shift across UNUM, especially, on yours looks more in line with those than with Wexlers 016 that crosses to VVs002/CCs 003???Jim

I was surprised seeing this in collection so far. It makes me excited to go through them all. Some I haven't looked at from years ago. Before I even looked for doubled dies and errors. At this point I am leaning toward Wexlers 025 which crosses to VVs 007/CCs 005... I think it’s WDDR-016 (1DR-003)(DDR-002) based solely on the MDS images at Coppercoins. Check yours well against that die state.
I hope you don’t mind, but I used your image to circle the die scratches that look like they match Coppercoins. I wish Wexler had an image of the E.
Edit: The scratch through the O in OF appears to be there also.Last edited by jay4202472000; 04-02-2020, 08:10 PM.Comment
