Trying close ups on BIEs. This is with a diffuser. I think it looks much better.

Looks pretty good. This was with the 75mm Tominon lens? or the 35mm Rodenstock?

The overall image looks a bit low contrast. It may be your camera settings, in which case you can just increase the contrast in DPP. If that doesn't fix it, you may want to flock the extension by rolling a piece of black paper into a tube, and put it inside the extension tube. Make the tube go from just above the lens up to within a half inch of the top.

It is also possible to figure out the actual problem surface inside the extensions by setting up the shot, and then removing the camera and looking down inside the tube toward the lens. Position your eye about 1-1/2" above the camera mount adapter. If there is a problem, you'll see "rings" of light inside the extensions where the stray light from the lens is reflecting off of inside surfaces of the extensions. No rings, no problem. But if you see rings it may be beneficial to do the flocking with a tube, though once you determine exactly which areas are a problem, you only need to flock those areas.

I used the 35mm.
