Attribution of CC's 013 (https://coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1956&die_id=1956d1do013&die_state=mds) is based on the appearance and location of the extra eyelid and the location of the mint mark. CC's 014 (https://coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1956&die_id=1956d1do014&die_state=mds) has a similar mint mark location but the obverse has a RPM. Thanks for looking.

It may be damage or gunk but yours looks to have an RPM too, east and west.

Like I have said many times Jon, "You don't miss a thing!!". Now I see what appears to be a lightly punhed upper curve of another D. Where are you seeing the west punching? Thanks, Larry

Great job being able to see all that in my armature photos is amazing Jon!! I'll go back and check the listed RPMs. Thanks, Larry

Jon, I checked all the listings of 56D RPMs and there was nothing comparable. However, Wexler only lists the best of varieties so it is possible that he has one that is comparable. Maybe someone else has seen one like this.

I think I would pull out the old handkerchief and give the coin a little rub at the mintmark area. I bet the East disappears.. Hope not - just a hunch - if it does I might know which one this is if Dan doesn't chime in..

Eric, I used a wet Q-tip and the the East still appears. Here are some pics. Bye the way Eric I thought I was the only one to still use a handkerchief!!
