Finally picked one of these guys!! Basically went off MM position because of the crud
Did a spot treatment to get the crud off and what do ya know?!?!?!? Got it !!
Not bad for a $15 offer (https://www.ebay.com/itm/1911-D-Lincoln-Cent-Wheat-Penny-MAKE-US-AN-OFFER-B4177/284098430652?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649) :)Think Ill do a few more spots to get crud of LIBERTY. Don't want to mess with it too much. The dot by R is barely visible and there is no cracks on the reverse. I thought maybe a very late stage but looks like EDS if I go off Coppercoins.
Not too sure but I finally have one. Too bad it took a hit on the bottom of the MM but I cant complain

Excellent catch, given the gunk on the mm and a great buy! Just looking at the worth differences on cc, looks like this is the more scarce of the three?

Definitely not easy to find. Those that do find them, keep them. Now I need 1 & 2

That looks like it! I think Coppercoins and support folks really need to be high fived for the research, photos etc. The coin will be easier to locate thanks to them.

Nice. They should be a little "less rare" now that all of the attributors are on the same page. :)

Bear with me....
The 1911D 1MM-003 "EDS" stage shown on CC is my low grade circulated coin. And even while the coin is low grade is does show Metal Flow/Die fatigue on the bottom E of ONE, yet no die reverse die cracks. I thought the E of ONE was a marker specific to the 1MM-003, but I then again I have not given much research to reverse dies of 1911D Lincoln Cents.

December of last year I bought a copy of the 1MM-003 which featured a late state obverse and (perhaps) the same reverse as the low grade copy seen as EDS on CC. Around December 13, I emailed Chuck and we discussed the possibility of a new reverse die marriage in the later stages of 1mm-003. After all, the reverse die cracks are absent yet the lower E of ONE is still present. I have been reviewing nice clean images of 1911D reverses, and now I do believe the ONE (E) defect is present on enough images to be a working hub defect(?). This may help explain how the obverse and reverse marriage is LDS and available without the known 1MM-003 die cracks. ie., a new die marriage created when the reverse die gave out from the increasing die cracks. Below is an example of an image from the PCGS CoinFacts. Note the E of ONE has this mentioned defect.

Either way, I think the marriage is trivial and more academic than significant. IMO, The RPM is rare in any grade or state and I congratulate you for a GREAT pick!

Thoughts anyone? I would like to see an example of the 1911D 1MM-003 with a married EDS obverse and EDS reverse. So....who has one of the these? Brian

The one I have is this one. Just no cracks on the reverse. I can’t remember if Dans did or not.

Email me a reminder. I'll send you the data I collected of most of the known examples.

Ok, reminder sent. I'll email you my collected data as soon as I have a half hour and remember. Like my wife does, it's best to hit me up first thing in the morning. I'm usually exhausted and disgusted by 10am.
