This is one I haven't found before. I did have help searching today. I spotted him on the back of my loupe hand. Unfortunately he was not around long enough to verify my find. I did get a pic of him. He is quite majestic in his black amour with a red and gold cloak. If anyone knows who he is I would like to learn his name.

Nice find, Larry! A new to you variety is always cool. As for your helper, maybe a predatory stink bug. It says the babies are more round, like yours. The one I found is a good one, it gets rid of bad insects in the garden.:)

Thanks for your informative replay Jon!! I think that is him or a very close relative. My question is how and why is he in my basement?? I guess I looked just too appetizing and he couldn't resist!!
