This one took a couple of weeks to arrive by USPS. I was pretty sure I spotted the "Blunt 4" over the "pointed 4" so I was anxious to see if I picked the FS one since there are three similar ones. Sure enough, it was the nicer one.

First time I've come across one of these.

Enjoy!

Good score, the "1" has some nice separation.

Side note- I collected coins as a kid in the mid-80's and bought a BU 1949-S back then. After getting in to variety hunting (2019) I was able to retrieve my old collection and realized I had bought DDO-001!

Nice catch and a good looking coin, Cliff! There must have been some nice clashing on that die at some point.

Thanks, guys. It was a nice pick now and especially when you started collecting Greg.

FYI- Coppercoins and Doubleddies do not have this as crossing over to the other as I noted above.

CC.com references DDO-001 & FS101 while DD.com has no cross-references known. I'm seeing identical die scratches on both which is allowing me to see they are the same variety. (Two parallel die scratches under the chin, the die scratch SSE from the upper tip of the first 9, and a couple of others.)

Thanks Jon but I'm not seeing any clashing on this coin. (The two lines under the chin are deep die scratches)

Jon is saying that because of the abrasion lines there must have been some clash marks to get rid of, I think.
