    1956 D RPM 5

I don't drink so I can't blame it on that. I missed a ton of varieties the first time around on this bag of wheats. If you saw my previous post, I'm going through a bag of wheats for the second time but putting each cent under the microscope. Found this 1956 D RPM 5 in there today. This one jumps out at you, so I don't know how I missed it before. Oh well, guess I'm slipping.

This die is actually really interesting. It is a D/D/D/D (west, north, and south) and I made a little graphic to help see the punches. Pretty cool variety. However, now that I look at my graphic and other pictures of this die on the difference attribution sites, I think the curve in the center of the primary mintmark could actually be the top portion of the south punch (Punch 3 in my graphic). Originally, I thought it was the lower curve of the north punch (Punch 2 in my graphic). What do you think?

I like to drink when I search. That way I see doubling on every coin!
