Hello everyone...do you think the raised mark above the "S" is anything?

never seen any 50 s/s RPM that far north. Also I do not pick up a serif..

All over the rest of the MM and date area there are a lot of hits. bottom of 5 in particular... copper is soft and dings and hits can scoop and push the metal up..

Under a glass look it it close .... does it look to be a ding ? ( post Mint damage )

I looked at this for quite sometime for the reasons you mentioned, there are a lot of hits all around but this just looked a bit different. It is definitely raised and it just seemed that it had a curve similar to the "S" below it.

My first thought was that it was nothing, I was just looking for some confirmation to that thought.

Hey there stang66 nice youve joined us!!!
What I do not see hear is anything inside of the primary mintmark. There shoud be at least some part of the secondary "S" inside of the loop of the primary. Plus there is no serif on either end... Circulated also, I wouldn't spend $3.00 NCADD, or $4.00 CONECA
for them to tell me there's not enouph to conferm an RPM.... It's probably circ damage...
