Somehow I don't that coin is legit. The obverse doesn't look right. And why is the reverse not double struck as well?

Its real.

Mike Diamond "It's a perfectly genuine error. This coin was struck once through a rotated, late-stage die cap. The normally-oriented, incuse design elements are characteristic"

Its on the another forum: http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=54661

I saw this coin thru another forum a couple of days ago and Mike Diamond chimed in and said it was a genuine error. It's a long thread but Mike answers a lot of questions about how this anomoly occured.

That description makes sense. The seller should be told about this other thread and they should send it to him for examination, then they should re-list it on eBay with his observations.

AFTER THOUGHTS: I guess it is going to sell, probably high - they got free exposure from all the threads up. Re-listing was a bad suggestion. Very interesting...

That is genuine. I have a different date that is very similar in appearance.

I might have to bid on it if it's real. But I think this will go for over $500.00
That is just my thought.

With only 63 feedbacks and 94.3%...Ill pass.

Hes making a killing on selling alot of 70S LD as SD. All the auctions are the same pic. You can clearly see its a LD. Plus all his shipping costs are $6..crazy. to ship one coin??????

I wonder how much he would give me for my BU roll of 70S LD??????

I know I would not trust the auction due to his feedback.

He also if you noticed located on the island of Newfoundland, which is off the coast of Canada above Nova Scotia.

All those large dates being sold as small dates is irritating, especially as it seems the buyers are unaware of the incorrect attributions...
