Wow:

I think my luck is changing. Two good finds in three days.

Here are Pics of the 1997 DDO 1, FS#1-043 (I think it is, Am I right?)

Any ideas as to grade and value?

Is the date doubled also, or is that just MDD?

Thanks for any opinions.

Nice find. The grade is probably AU. Worth around $30.

Nice find! I'd also say grade in AU range, and value probably around $40. I don't see anything unusual about the date.

That surprises me- with all the 92 close AMs you've found, I thought for sure you'd have found one of these. I've found 16 1997 doubled ears, and no 92 close AMs yet. Luck of the draw, I guess.

Well my good finds have certainly fallen off: I've kept statistics for varieties found for every 200,000 cents searched. I recently finished the 4th block (800,000 total) and here is the 1997 DDO breakdown:

1st: 6
2nd: 6
3rd: 3
4th: 1

so it certainly seems to be slowing down. Oh well.

Wow Ag;

Thats a lot of pennies. Have you thought about changing your name to CuCollector?:angel: Or maybe nowadays it should be Zn. I think thats zinc. (Over 50 years since chem class)

BTW my 1997 double ear and my 1994 dbl col rev. (FS#1c 039.9) are available for trade if anyone is interested. Pics have been posted earlier.

Both are probably AU but the 94 is not too clean.

Yep, Zn is zinc. As for Ag vs Cu, it probably should be changed, or at least both, but I first got into die varieties by looking through a bunch of junk silver I had bought and finding a 1934 quarter that "looked funny"- turned out to be the DDO listed in the red book!
