Hi
well it's been two weeks and I'm getting better. Still alot of pain, especially the old sharp (it's just as hot coming out as going in.) have not looked at pennies but there are four boxes ready. Got our chroicles set and no problems (sounds like we are lucky.) thanks for your postive comments and cards and prayers. If your planning on getting a knee replacment _ plan on pain. Oh by the way that real nice 1910-p we found is probably a proof! Heidi showed it to two dealers that checked out the markers and looks to be a early die one obverse -will send it in along with the 1980-p ddo-001.
Love you all
Roger

Welcome back. Good luck with that 1910. 09 and 10 can be very well struck and decieving, but if the markers match then you are probably good.

It's good to hear from you again. Welcome back. Thanks for the heads up on the knee replacement. I'll definately try to avoid that. Glad you're feeling a little better and hope your recovery will be quick and complete.

I agree about the 1910 if it is not a proof atleast it will be a nice ms coin. You are right on about the scarcity on high grade certified 23-s. Can't find one
thanks again brad

Roger hi and I am glad you are doing good my friend....I found that 1909P V.D.B and I took it to a dealer near me and he checked it out for me and it is a PROOF....he has a book from Mark Flynn and he matched it to that it is MS-64 PROOF.

Good luck with your PT Roger.

I predict you'll feel a lot better in a few weeks.

Roger I know a couple of folks who had that done and after the healing they are feeling awesome, like new and ready for another hundred miles or so.

Good luck and Gods speed with the rehap,

Jeff

Roger:

Some words of caution.

Use Latex exam gloves while searching thru pennies, at least until everything is completely healed. Wash hands thoroughly after handling coins.

Don't touch coins at all if you have a paper cut or hangnail.

Staph infections can travel from any opening in the skin to an artificial joint. Its a safe haven and a base of operation for the bugs.

Talk to your doctor about precautions.

In 2007 I had to have my artificial knee taken out due to staph infection. It took several months to get rid of the bugs so they could put a new knee back in.

I'm fine now and searching rolls as usual, but I'm cautious especially when handling the occasional nasty roll.

No one knows why I got the infection so I don't want to alarm you. It may or may not have been from handling coins. I'm just more careful now.

Good luck with your rehab. Jeff is right. I am basically pain free (Knees and hip wise). It was well worth it even with the problems. I was in a lot more pain before the surgeries.
