LCR Giveaway Contest #4
This "Give-Away" will be for a Ten Dollar credit at the LCR store.
Here is the contest: I have just sent 6 coins to PCGS. They are pictured below. The individual who can predict the sum of the coins grades will win. They are a 27D, 18S, 28S, 20S, and two 26S's.
Here is what you need to do. Add all the grades together, and give me that total. Example VG8 + F12 + AU53+ MS69 + AG3 = 145. If PCGS does gives the coin a "genuine designation", then it will be considered a zero.
To make things interesting, we will be using "the Price is Right" rules. You cannot go over. The closest one without going over will win.
The coins were sent to PCGS last week. Gives you about two weeks to decide. Contest ends when PCGS gets the coins graded.
You can only submit one guess, and that guess cannot be changed. You cannot guess a value that has already been used.

Wow. I'm like 25 to 50 points higher than everyone else. I didn't think the coins looked that bad.

Overall I am very happy with the grades. As you know, I am trying to build a set of XF45's or better. I am a little disappointed that PCGS did not put "Large S" on my 1928 S. It is a Large S for sure. I guess I was supposed to pay the $24 variety fee for that one. Oh well.
One thing is for sure- My scanner does not make my coins look good. Those were some low estimates...maybe everyone was just scarred of going over, or was banking on PCGS not giving grades to all of them.
The total is 290.
Rock was closest with 269. He wins!
P.S. That 1926 S XF45 is going to be for sale.

Wow. I was 21 points off and I still won. Cool. Thanks Brad for having the contest. It's been a couple of weeks since I visited the LCR store so will check it out again later this week.

Trust me, in person these coins are much better. My prediction before sending them in was a 285. I won't use that scanner again.
