Here (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350318070500&_trksid=p2759.l1259) is a nice 1992 slabbed by NGC as a MS68 and with the attribution that its a "Wide AM". I thought all 1992's had wide AM's and it was the closed AM's that were worth a premium. I emailed seller and asked about it. DO I have my facts wrong. Is this worth a premium? Not sure if the seller is a member. I would sure hate to miss the boat somewhere.

NGC has been slabbing all 1992's as "Wide AM" unless of course they are the rare close AM. I believe they slab 99, 98, and 2000 "Close AM's" as well. This is very similar to labeling a 1970 S Large Date. PCGS and ANACS do not do this.

It must be a typo Rock, I am guesinng that NGC labeled the Close AM a Wide AM and other than that I have no clue.

This a way of catching the novice off guard and with mention of any width am,and yes a MS68 is worth a small premium and the slab its self, but not to me.

And as a result many collectors have been confused on eBay when they are conronted with the "Wide AM" lable in an auction. I'm sure some newer collectors have bought a slabbed Wide AMs thinking it was something rare. I don't think NGC should have ever done this.

I don't think so. there were or are 2 seperate listing with the same language. It reminds me of how sellers tried to get around ebay fees by charging only a penny for something but then charged $25.00 shipping. Some sellers take the back roads and do catch people off guard.

I agree and I guess this was my point. Why not just say "NORMAL" on these slabs?
