This does not look like just normal wear and tear. I suppose it is a worn die; or something else? What are the issues on the inside of the rim; lamination? Expl. would be appreciated. Thanks, George

I think it is just a case of wear. It almost looks like it was dipped in acid as well. This could very well be a worn die to boot. A lot happening here, but none of it good unfortunately.

It looks to me like this coin has been subjected to soft pummeling, perhaps with a rubber hammer. It's not die wear or acid attack.

This also may be the case where the coin was stuck in a commercial clothes dryer. I have seen coins like this before and it comes close to having that type of appearance.
