Hello all it is me again putting on another coin for you all to take a look at. I do not know what this is called, or if it is trails on the letters. Please look at pics and let me know.

Poor plating was an issue in those first years and this may be he culprit here.

Die deterioration, indicated by the heavy metal flow lines from the tops of the letters and a bit of machine doubling.

COULD BE A COMBINATION OF SEVERAL THINGS, AS JEFF SAID AND DIE DETERIORASION.
